About Dr. Ronald Farran:

graduated from the University of Detroit with a Bachelor of Science Degree with honors. He attended Wayne State University where he obtained a four year medical degree. After medical school, he spent three months at the Karolinski Institute in Stockholm, Sweden in a clinical clerkship. He then took his straight medicine internship at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Mo. (Washington University). Following this, he spent one year as an internal medicine resident at Barnes. He was then accepted as a resident in Neurology at UCLA Medical Center. After three years of training, he then became the Chief Neurologist at March Air Force Base, Riverside, Ca at the rank of Major. After his military service, a year was then spent at UCLA/HGC in a fellowship for electroencephalography. During this time he authored a published article on seizure mechanisms.

Dr. Farran then entered private practice as a clinical neurologist and continued teaching at UCLA. He has appeared as a guest lecturer on numerous neurological topics at local hospitals in the South Bay area. His clinical practice encompasses the diagnosis and treatment of various neurological problems. These include Headache Disorders, TMJ Syndrome, Stroke, Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Seizure Disorders, and other diseases of the central and peripheral nervous system. His practice also includes the treatment of cervical and low back pain with or without associated limb pain. He utilizes electroencephalography to diagnose seizures. Electromyography is useful in diagnosing entrapment neuropathies such as Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and other neuromuscular diseases such as Myastheina gravis and myopathies.

Dr. Farran has been in the forefront in the use of Botox for the management of neurological and cosmetic uses. He has given guest lectures on the topic of Botox treatment at UCLA/HGC. His training in the use of Botox has been extensive. It has included numerous courses with hands-on training through the American Academy of Neurology as well as at the University of Washington. He has attended a number of educations classes on the both the medical and cosmetic uses of Botox. His experience in Botox treatment includes hundreds of patients since 1994.
